POST-STENT-Three months, 340 miles and my 65th birthday later (Medicare!!), am doing fine. No worries with the meds – Plavix doesn’t seem to bother me. I am still a little paranoid when ever there’s a muscle tweak anywhere above my waist and I don’t push myself hard. I’ve raced 3 times, but again have not pushed, although I am pleasantly pleased with my times. I’ve done a couple of double-digit runs including an 11.5 miler on my 65th birthday (My present to myself). The Sunday Morning SJAC runs are a favorite of mine. Nothing like a cool breeze at 6:15am on a silent Sunday morning to realize why you are doing this… I’ve met some terrific folks and have enjoyed their company. Hard to find a better community of people than that of runners. A shared passion I suppose.
27-30 miles a week seems to fit just fine. I’ll continue with this and selectively pick my races. I did sign up for The Philadelphia Marathon – I will,at a minimum, do the half.
Wait…6:15? I thought we start at 7:00! Very nice family photos.
