In the books it is……Finished the year with a 2.5 mile run for a total of 1500.06 miles. 1500 miles – Three 1/2 marathons and one full marathon.
Last song listened to was “Eyes of the World” ..Thank you Jerry & (Robert Hunter)!
“Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the mornin’ brings
But the heart has its seasons, its evenins and songs of its own”
My heart is full. What a year! All good! The highlight
Natalie Jay who arrived in August! Now three beautiful granddaughters. They fill my heart…(Keep em comin) A luckier grandfather would be hard to find. Both my children are happy and healthy. And my wife who is the love of and grounding force in my life. I know how fortunate I am and I am grateful.
There are “moments” in my my life that I so cherish. They happen when I set aside myself and I realize the gift of the life I’ve been given. They are brief moments that often come without warning and are only realized the instant they pass . “just” I try to save them. Running sometimes helps me with their discovery. I try hard to save them.
2016 is here. I have running goals that include spring and fall marathons.
But for today I will “Carpe Momento”…
“Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero”…”Seize the day, trusting as little as possible in the future.”
Go easy on those marathons. They can leave a mark.
